  • Frequently Asked Questions
    • What makes Crackerdog different?
      • It is truly "Customized Care." Every dog is different and has different needs, so we strive to keep your dog's body exercised and mind stimulated in a way that fits your dog individually. Please refer to our mission for a detailed explanation of what our Canine Enrichment activities entail.
    • Where did you get the name Crackerdog?
      • The owners first heard the term "Crackerdog" in Dog Stories by James Harriot. The term Crackerdog is when a dog gets a burst of energy and runs really fast all over for no reason. This sort of a happy dance. Our dog Posey is famous for going Crackerdog. She is "going Crackerdog" on our logo.
    • Should I bring anything?
      • You are always welcome to bring whatever you want, but there is really no need to. Of course, if your dog will only fetch a certain Frisbee, then please bring that Frisbee. We provide lots of bedding, toys and yummy food (Health Wise).
    • How much time will my dog be out of his housing unit?
      • Usually the dogs are out a couple hours in the morning and a couple hours in the evening. This can vary depending on how many dogs are staying with us. It is usually more during the week and less during the weekend and holidays. We make sure to make the most of their time out by engaging them with stimulating activities. When they are in their housing units they are also being stimulated with puzzles, and lots of love from the staff.
  • Directions
    • Crackerdog is a little less than 3 miles West of Loop 360 on Bee Caves Road. It is after the One World Theater and a little before the Shell station on the left. You should see our sign as well as the Austin Classic Builders sign at our entrance. We are all the way in the back in a green building with red shutters, a tin roof and a large privacy fence.
    • Parking: Do not be afraid to pull up in the walkway and unload your dog. On rainy days, park only where there is rock. The ground can get really soft fast.
